Chef Ricardo Zarate and Chef Mario Alberto reunite at Olivia Pizza & Plants Wine Bar vegetarian restaurant in Koreatown, co-owned by Grammy winner Anderson Paak on Tuesday, Dec. 12. It will be their first collaboration since 2009 at Mo-Chica in DTLA. The $100 per person multi-course menu includes an Akami tuna hand roll, grilled king mushroom with BBQ potatoes, in tigers’ milk sauce, green pea risotto with Peruvian artichokes and oyster mushrooms in Peruvian potato stew with mint chimichurri. The optional wine pairing is $65 per person.
Olivia is taking pre-orders now for Alberto’s Christmas tamales that can be picked up on Friday, Dec. 22, and Saturday, Dec. 23. Flavors include mushroom and eggplant with chile Morita, turmeric and thyme masa as well as jackfruit and chickpea with pasilla peppers, tomatillo and rosemary charcoal masa. One half dozen is $36, and one dozen is $72.
